DaFür (‘German as a foreign language for integration’) is an e-learning portal for German as a foreign language, aimed at refugees and other people who want to integrate into German society. DaFür’s main goal is to teach young people and adults the basic language skills they need to cope with everyday situations.
DaFür can be used to supplement face-to-face language courses (blended learning approach) and also as self-study material. Designed as a first step for self-learning, DaFür can also be integrated with face-to-face language courses, allowing teachers to incorporate the modules into their lessons. This means that learners can consolidate and expand on the content after class or prepare for the next lesson, enabling them to learn much more quickly and efficiently.
9 Modules on everyday situations
The portal contains nine modules on various topics. The focus is on everyday situations, such as visiting the doctor, filling out forms, making phone calls, leisure activities and looking for accommodation. Basic language skills, vocabulary and grammar are taught and reinforced on the basis of everyday situations.
All modules are based on authentic videos that reflect the actual everyday life of the learners. The linguistic content is taught on the basis of these videos.
